On Tuesday 30 July 2019, the Australian World Orchestra (AWO) hosted the 'AWO SIX' concert and also provided the opportunity for Arab Bank Australia to partake in the concert rehearsal. This opportunity allowed for several music students from different colleges and schools to experience an all-star line-up of eclectic bravura in the 'AWO SIX' rehearsal, that executed an exciting performance of Mendelssohn and Brahms.
The students were also provided with the opportunity to hear from the brilliant conductor Mr Alexander Briger AO (AWO Chief Conductor and Artistic Director) and the inspiring Sergio Insuasti (Principal Viola at, Sydney Youth Orchestra), both Alex and Sergio provided the students with an informative talk about their careers and some great advice on developing a professional music career.
'AWO SIX' Concert was performed in Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney. On the evening of Tuesday 30 July 2019, several dignitaries, Bank guests and AWO guests attended the 'AWO SIX' concert at Sydney's City Recital Hall. As quoted, 'The AWO SIX's brisk tempos, dynamic contrasts and rhythmic acuity captured the propulsive -energy and joyous thematic cut-and-thrust nature of the two outer movements. Their deft lightness of touch and lilting rhythms realised the charm of the second movement while curvaceous lines and expressive blend revealed the ruminative essence of the third'. Quoted by, 'Murray Black', The Australian, published 2 August 2019.
An exhilarating evening enjoyed by all. Arab Bank Australia is proud to be partnered with the AWO in support of the sublime AWO academy programme, click here to learn more about the AWO Academy programme.
