This year Arab Bank Australia was proud to sponsor the 8th Annual Sydney Harbour Swim Classic, held on Sunday, 1 March 2009. The Sydney Harbour Swim classic is a supporter of The Millennium Foundation, which Arab Bank Australia has been proud sponsors of for many years.

On the day, swimmers had the choice to compete in the 1km mini swim or the 2km swim classic. This year competitors and spectators also had the chance to cheer on celebrities such as Susie Maroney and Murray Rose in the inaugural Fort Denison Charity Sprint. The day was a great success with over 900 competitors.

Arab Bank Australia’s Chief Financial Officer, Bernie Buncle, cut a fine figure on the day competing in the 2km race – completing the race in 27.49 minutes – coming 153rd position overall and 15th in his age category. James Wakim, Managing Director of Arab Bank Australia and Director of The Millennium Foundation had the opportunity to present some of the competitors with their awards as well as talk about the important work that is done at The Millennium Foundation.
